Twitter changed my life

...and now I'm using it to help others.

March 2011, I had been on Twitter for 2 years. I'll admit I was one of the ones who thought it nothing more than an alternative to the away message on your Aol Instant Messanger. But that's not how I think about it today.

Today, Twitter has created connections that I take advantage of on an almost daily basis. I even have Twitter to thank for my current job, seriously. It's a great service if you're connected with the right audience.

That being said, I'm currently running a service called followme.io. It's primary goal is to get more followers. Since flipping the switch back in September, I've gone from 300 -> 3800, thats about a 1300% increase in 6 months.

When the service was first started, it was nothing more than a python script. It was then turned into followme.io, a pay as you go service to get more followers everyday.

I'm sure you've seen those sites on Google that promise to give you an extra 5000 followers by the end of the week. Those don't work, it's just a ton of spam accounts setup simply to inflate your following count. The number might feel good but when you look at your list of followers and realize its all porn bots and spammers you'll soon regret your decision.

Followme excels at creating real connections with users on Twitter who you otherwise might have missed. It's created freelance and other business opportunities that I wouldn't have made without it.

I'd love to hear how Twitter has influenced your life and where you think you would be today without it.
